Confidential Tech Client

Sunnyvale, California

250,000 SF

*This project was temporarily put on hold due to COVID-19 and construction has been postponed.

A five-story 250,000 SF building in Sunnyvale would be the initial epicenter of an expanded campus for this tech giant, with a large cafe hosting four different servery counters, a fitness center, massage suite, locker and shower rooms, multiple break rooms and lounges, patio spaces and workspace; spanning the five floors of the building while seating over 1,000 employees.

 Before Photos

The building was previously occupied by one of the client’s former competitors, and hadn’t been renovated since the early 2000s. The interior of the building will be entirely demolished, save for the double-height opening in the lobby, the core restroom walls and the building mechanical and equipment rooms. A new central open U-shaped staircase will replace the old enclosed work-horse stair across from the elevators.

3D RENDERINGS

NOTE REGARDING DESIGN + RENDERINGS DISPLAYED BELOW:

This gigantic 250,000 square foot project of office and amenity spaces spans across five 50,000 square foot floor plates. As senior designer, my role is to both actively design and lead the design effort. Typically I work with one or two junior or intermediate designers on a project, however, larger projects such as this require a larger team. On this project, I led a talented team of five intermediate and junior-level designers while ensuring that the overall design intent, deliverables and program requirements were achieved and presented with a consistent, similar “hand.”

The designs and 3D renderings of the various spaces shown below were completed collectively by six team members (myself included). I did not personally render and design every space below, though I offered direction, guidance, and feedback throughout the process. These 3D renderings are a result of many, many months of discussions, collaborations, focus, dedication and most importantly, teamwork.
