Figs was a fairly new company, quickly growing out of their original startup office. The young co-CEO’s wanted a space where they could express their fashion scrubs brand and host speaker series. It was important that their employees could work comfortably in a workspace that would support their various departmental needs and work styles while fostering dialogue and creative interaction during their collection design process.
Before Photos
The space resided on the ground floor of another beautifully raw and newly built office building in Santa Monica with freshly poured concrete slabs and an abundance of filtered natural daylight.
An Intersetion Between Japanese and Nordic Aesthetics
The creative-lead amongst the co-CEO’s mentioned early on that she was inspired by the very visually organized and clean geometric sensibility of Japanese architecture as well as the muted yet cozy “Hygge” of Scandinavian design. I’ve since heard this combo referred to as “Japandi” style, but in any case, we were thrilled to explore this clever fusion of design styles.
